The Art of Pho, a motion comic. Beautifully made!

Oh mijn god!!. Ik zit nu al 6 online episodes te kijken van de motion comic "Art of Pho", gebaseerd op de comic van Julian Hanshaw. Deze illustrator en animator heeft een gave stijl neergezet in zijn comics. Zo gaaf dat Lois van Baarle er als animation director de taak van Submarine channel kreeg om een animated versie ervan te maken.

Zowel Julian als Submarine zijn lyrisch, (ik ook overigens) over het eind resultaat. Nou ja eindresultaat, er moeten nog twee episodes vrij komen online, waar ik maar niet kan wachten.. zo mooi!

Through an extraordinary sequence of events, Little Blue ends up in Ho Chi Minh City where he learns to master the Art of making Pho (Phở) – Vietnam‘s ubiquitous noodle soup. The adventures that ensue set him on a marvelous path of self-discovery.

Based on the graphic novel by Julian Hanshaw, The Art of Pho is a moving story and travelogue about friendship, love and discovering your roots, set against the backdrop of Vietnam’s bustling capital.

With animation director Lois van Baarle, Submarine Channel re-created The Art of Pho for the web, adding the dimensions ofmusic, voice acting, hand-drawn animation and interactivity to Hanshaw’s exquisitely drawn artwork. The amazing soundtrack was done by Pastelle Music and will be made available as MP3′s asap.

CNN Ecosphere 2011 twitter visualisatie

CNN heeft een mooie 'broccoli"  realtime data-visualisatie laten ontwikkelen van de discussies op twitter tijdens een klimaatverandering conferentie COP17 in Durban, Zuid-Afrika die eind 2011 gehouden werd.

Op Froot.nl  vond ik wederom weer eens een dienst om je facebook foto's en status updates te laten vereeuwigen in een papieren versie.

Soft guns van designer Lassey James. Geloof me, daar kom je schiphol niet mee in.

Leuk portemonneetje trouwens hieronder. Super schattig natuurlijk. Je dochtertje leert zo al vroeg omgaan met de "zachte" kant van de wapenwereld. "poef" mama.. dood. uber-cute.. toch?? Ahum.

Op Bright.nl gezien: Nieuwe 12" action figure van Steve Jobs komen eraan. op Inicons.com kun je hem bestellen.. Is ie toch nog dicht bij je..

Maarten van Bright.nl zegt:

Ok, hij is van juli 2011 en de site is nog wat ouder maar dit filmpje van "Plug" is toch ontroerend. Gesponsored door Nissan gaat dit persoontje de wereld rond en verteld over natuurlijke energie bronnen.

Ja, belerend misschien, maar niet minder mooi opgezet. Op de loop met zijn vriendinnetje komen ze allerlei wezens tegen die op hun eigen manier milieuvriendelijke energie vergaren. De site is mooi opgezet.

Pistacchi Design

Via Fubiz kwam ik bij deze design studio. Ze vertellen dat hun site nog in de maak is maar dat ze wel op Facebook te vinden en te "liken" zijn. Ze hebben best mooie producten.. Het feit dat ze met hout mooie en grappige dingen maken, doet ze me op de blog zetten.. inspiratie dus..

Gamespot: Best games of 2011 Awards

NoMoMo Spot: Game awards van Gamespot.

De medewerkers van Gamespot, een erg betrouwbare en populaire site die zich al jaren compleet richt op games op elke gameconsole, hebben zich wederom dit jaar een paar dagen lang opgesloten in een kamer om samen te beslissen welk spel zich de beste game kan noemen van 2011 in zijn eigen genre. Zie hieronder de videos met de uitslag.

Ga er maar vanuit dat ze gelijk hebben.

Sommige genres trekken me geheel niet maar na het kijken van de videos over deze games en het enthousiasme dat er vanaf straalt bij het gesproken commentaar, zou ik ze bijna toch willen proberen. Maar ja.. "Time is of the essence" En daar hebben we niet zoveel van he?.

Dat word kiezen dus met kerst..
